St. Mark’s is a community in which there is space to explore, to question, to learn and to grown in our relationship with Christ and with each other. Faith Journey

Womens Retreat 2015This series of twelve weekly gatherings gives those new to St. Mark’s an opportunity to hear each other’s stories, explore questions of faith, build relationships and listen for God’s call. The Sunday Faith Journey group meets from 12:15-1:30pm. The Wednesday group meets from 6:00-7:15pm. A meal is served at both gatherings and childcare is available. For more information click here.

Bible Studies

Sunday, 11am, Parish Commons Classroom
Adults dig deep into a biblical or theological text, presented as a series. Material is chosen for the season, or in response to the group’s curiosity.

Tuesday, 5:15pm, Fireside Room
“Fully Alive” is a gathering of women who study scripture, pray, and share the ups and downs of life. This Fall the focus will be the book of Esther.

Wednesday, 9:30am, Parish Commons Classroom
Women’s Bible Study gathers around coffee, refreshments and the Word of God. The group studies and shares wisdom from their years of living the Christian faith.

Wednesday, 12noon, Parish Commons Classroom
At Bible Study Luncheon men and women read and discuss the scripture texts appointed for the upcoming Sunday. The pastor who will be preaching on the texts guides the conversation.

Circle Groups

Lydia Circle—first Tuesday of the month in the Parish Commons Classroom—bring a brown bag lunch;

Ruth Ann Circle—meets monthly in Gig Harbor homes—contact Suzy Reynolds if interested;

Café Circle—meets the first Friday of the month in the Fireside Room—young children are welcome—will use Café materials from the ELCA, designed for younger women.

Sunday, 9:45am, Parish Commons Classroom
The Adult Forum provides opportunities to reflect on Christian faith in light of current events and the daily decisions we need to make. Topics vary, leadership is shared, and the conversation is lively. Check the weekly Parish Life section of the bulletin, or the electronic Bridge for specific topics.

Wednesday, 6:15pm, Parish Commons Classroom
Midweek Renewal is a time to be refreshed by the promises of God and our connections with each other. This gathering is nestled between dinner and Prayer Around the Cross. It provides time for a contemplative hearing of scripture, sharing our stories, and gaining insight from those who have gone before us (the man or woman who will be commemorated at the Evening Prayer service).

Monthly Gatherings

Interfaith Bible Study meets Thursdays, once-a-month at 7pm. Join neighbors from St. Luke Episcopal, Temple Beth-El and Bethany Presbyterian in reading and reflecting on the theme: “Finding God in the Other” All are welcome to participate.  Please sign up in the narthex to receive an email with readings and reflection questions.
