Outreach Overview

The Outreach Ministry Team leads us in the ministry of extending the hospitality of Christ by inviting, welcoming, and walking with others in their journey of faith. This team also coordinates the work of communicating the mission of our congregation to newcomers and to the community at large.

Outreach Opportunities

The Outreach Ministry Team meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. In our efforts to fulfill the mission stated above, we seek to engage members and friends of the congregation in the following ways:

Faith Journey
Faith Journey gatherings happen most Sunday and Wednesday evenings throughout the year and participants, both guests and members of St. Mark’s, discover community and find nourishment for their life. It includes an open-ended time of inquiry where your stories and questions set the framework for discussion, followed by times of Bible reflection, renewal, and discernment that link visitors at St. Mark’s with members of the congregation who also want to grow in faith and affirm their Christian calling. Faith Companions
Members of St. Mark’s walk side by side with new people in a Faith Journey that leads them to baptism or affirmation of baptism. Contact Pastor Ruud for more information.

Online Media Assistance
Volunteers manage a database of congregational photos, collect release forms and assist the web designer with checking the website for outdated and incorrect material. Contact Lisa Lindholm for more information.

Worship Greeters
Greeters intentionally seek out people coming to worship whom they don’t already know.  They welcome those who attend worship with a smile, greeting and brief conversation. the offer to be of assistance and answer questions.

Welcome Center
Be present at the center to interact with visitors and members.

Publications & Brochures
Create and distribute information about St. Mark’s through print and interactive online media. This includes welcome packets for visitors and new memebers.

Congregational Newsletter
Write feature articles for our monthly newsletter, The Viewpoint.

Sharing Stories of Ministry
Periodically the volunteers collect faith stories and compile them in volumes to use as seasonal devotionals.
