Bells of St. Mark’s

Rehearsals: Thursdays from 6:00 – 7:20 p.m.

Service Leadership: 8:30, 9:45, and 11:00 a.m. worship

This group is the most advanced bell choir at St. Mark’s. To be successful, members need to know how to read music and commit to weekly rehearsals, missing when only absolutely necessary. No bell ringing experience is necessary to join – all bell techniques will be taught during rehearsals. If you would like to join but need to learn to read music, note-reading classes can be made available. The Bells of St. Mark’s rehearses weekly, September through June, playing for worship when music is ready. This choir is open to all adults, both members and non-members.

Celebration Ensemble

Rehearsals: Thursday Nights from 7:30-9:00pm

Service Leadership: 8:30 a.m. worship

Celebration Ensemble is a ministry of vocal musicians who serve as liturgical hosts for the 8:30 worship service. The eclectic nature of that service’s global music emphasis offers the group a wide range of musical styles and skills that they develop over the course of each year, often involving various percussion instruments and complex rhythmic patterns. As such, the group sings a wide range of choral music, influenced by many cultures. All are welcome, and please contact Cooper Sherry if you are interested in joining the group.

Canticle Choir

Rehearsals: Typically, one Saturday morning a month

Service Leadership: 11:00 a.m. worship

Canticle Choir is a ministry of trained vocalists who meet once a month to prepare advanced choral music for the 11:00 worship service. Because rehearsal time is limited to once a month, sight reading skills are more important here than in the other adult choirs. Please contact Cooper Sherry if you are interested in singing with the group.

The Praise Team is for adults 18 years and older with a desire to lead worship and praise God through contemporary Christian popular music. Their repertoire of music also reaches to other music genres, including blended, gospel and global. This group leads worship at the 9:45 a.m. service and rehearses every week, year-round. Praise Team members also collaborate several times a year with other St. Mark’s ensembles for special music.

St. Mark’s ChoraleSt Mark's Chorale

Rehearsals: (seasonal) from 6:00-7:00pm

This is an all ages group!

Service Leadership: Anthems for the 11:00 a.m. worship

St. Mark’s Chorale is a chance for families and friends of all ages to come together to sing. The three-service format of Sunday morning makes it difficult to put big choirs together on a regular basis at any given service. Once a season, we invite people from all three worship services to join together to make BIG music possible at St. Marks. The wonderful thing about this group is that it welcomes any ages, and gives grandchildren a chance to bring their grandparents to choir with them, or vise-versa! No previous experience or long-term commitment necessary, drop-ins are welcome, and rehearsals are infrequent and brief.

For more information about St. Mark’s Chorale, contact Cooper Sherry.
