Youth Choirs

St. Mark's Ringers

Rehearsals: Wednesday evenings from 7:10-8:00 p.m. in the Bell Room.

St. Mark's Ringers is a handbell choir for youth in grades 6-12. If you can read music already, that's great. If not, we're willing to teach you.

Bell choirs are unique from other musical groups because each and every member is an essential part of the group! If one person is missing, part of the melody or harmony is also missing!!! That is why regular attendance is very important.

Have a friend that would be interesting in joining? You do not have to be a member of St. Mark's to join. All you have to do is make a promise (covenant) to the other members that you will do your best to learn your music, will have dependable attendance, and commit to the worship services we are scheduled to play.

We teach you all you need to know about ringing handbells. We play for worship service when our music is ready and rehearse and perform September through May

Youth Music Drama Team

Rehearsals: Thursday evenings in the Parish Commons and Sanctuary from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

This group is for 6th-12th graders who like to sing, dance, act, and/or play instruments. You do not have to be a member of St. Mark's to join this group.

Actors learn how to present a story through drama and singing and work with Caresse Lemieux Robertson, a local freelance actor, on acting skills, blocking, sets, costumes, etc. They also work with Danielle Lemieux to learn the songs.

Band members learn music to support the actors singing and occasionally have a feature in the show! The band can include all instruments (strings, wind, percussion, piano, guitars, etc.). The band is led by Danielle Lemieux, Director of Music Ministry at St. Mark's.

**If you miss auditions for any show but would still like to be a part of it, there is always a "job" that needs to be done. For example, building the sets, finding props, helping with costumes, lights, sound, etc. Contact Danielle Lemieux at danielle@smlutheran.org for ways you can become involved.
