St. Mark’s Lutheran Church by the Narrows in Tacoma, Washington is seeking a Director of Finance and Operations to serve on our leadership team in a collegial, supportive, and creative environment.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Lead Pastor, this person carries out specific tasks and responsibilities in church administration, financial management, personnel, business operations, facilities and risk management in accordance with church policies. This is a part-time position with a 0.70 FTE (full-time equivalent). Annual salary of $46,000-$52,000 depending on education and experience. Qualifications

  • B.S./B.A. or higher in business or public administration or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years work experience relevant to the position 
  • Project management
  • Self-directed
  • Organizational ability
  • Financial/Accounting competence
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong personal accountability, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication skills to work with wide variety of people and groups
  • Advanced computer and analytic skills with knowledge of Microsoft Excel
